Data Deletion Instructions

This page explains how to request deletion of personal data held by Engaij Inc. ("Engaij," "we," "us"), including data obtained when you connect a Facebook Page or Instagram account to the Engaij platform. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes in full what data we collect and how we use it.

1. Data Obtained via Facebook or Instagram

When an organisation's staff member connects a Facebook Page or Instagram Business Account to Engaij (via Facebook Login), we store only what is needed to publish the organisation's own content to its own accounts:

  • An OAuth access token (encrypted at rest)
  • The connected Facebook Page's ID and name
  • The linked Instagram Business Account's ID and username, if present
  • The list of permissions granted during the connection

We do not collect follower lists, private messages, friends data, or engagement data from Facebook or Instagram.

2. Delete Facebook/Instagram Data: Self-Service

To remove Facebook/Instagram data from Engaij yourself:

  1. Log in to your Engaij account at app.engaij.ai
  2. Go to Settings > Social Accounts
  3. Click Disconnect next to the connected Facebook Page or Instagram account

Disconnecting immediately and permanently deletes the stored access tokens. The connection record (Page ID and name) is marked revoked and is fully deleted on request (see Section 3) or when your organisation's account is closed.

You can also revoke Engaij's access from the Facebook side: in Facebook, go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Apps and Websites, find engaij, and remove it. This invalidates the access token so Engaij can no longer access your Facebook or Instagram data.

3. Delete Facebook/Instagram Data: By Request

To have all data associated with your Facebook or Instagram connection deleted, including the revoked connection record, email privacy@engaij.com with the subject line "Facebook Data Deletion Request". Include:

  • The email address associated with your Engaij account
  • The name of the Facebook Page or Instagram account that was connected

We will verify your identity, complete the deletion within 30 days (or sooner where required by applicable law), and confirm by email when it is done.

4. Delete All of Your Personal Data

To request deletion of all personal data Engaij holds about you (not just Facebook/Instagram data), email privacy@engaij.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". Section 10 of our Privacy Policy describes your deletion rights, applicable verification steps, and legal retention exceptions. The same 30-day response commitment applies.
